The Elaine Kissel Hypnosis Center
has been in existence since 1977, and since then has
become recognized as one of the most successful hypnotherapy practices
in the country .Not just for the numbers of clients
Elaine Kissel serves, also for the success
rate she achieves for her clients.

Don Kissel, Elaine’s husband and partner
has managed the business and technical aspects
of the Center and is the first person people meet
when calling for Elaine’s help.
He has facilitated Elaine’s work and because of his
participation and support of all of her endeavors, together they
have been called the "dynamic duo."

Since the Elaine Kissel Hypnosis Center first opened
in Southfield, Michigan many innovative programs created by Elaine have
been
added to  the list of her services  to help  people achieve  their goals.
With  35 plus years of progressive development, Elaine Kissel’s  reputation
for innovation and originality has reached far and wide.

When Elaine Kissel set out to help people with hypnosis,
she had to overcome the misconceptions that had held it back for more
than
a century. The  popular though erroneous notions  about hypnosis
gradually
succumbed  to Elaine’s  steadfast  determination to  educate
people  with the  facts  and  provide the  kind of  hypnotherapy  that was
s best suited to each individual client.

She was the first to be allowed to advertise in the popular press
because  she made it  clear that she was not offering entertainment or  instant
miracles. She eradicated the nonsensical ideas while she established a new and
better reputation for hypnosis with the nature of her practices.

Elaine’s continuing self education and educating the public about hypnosis
paved  the  way  for others to enter the field. She created a  huge wave of
credibility    and    acceptance  for  hypnosis  through    her commitment  to
  excellence:
and with her scientifically controlled study proving blood sugar
can be controlled with hypnosis, she won for the
 profession new  positive
recognition an acceptance from the medical community.

She was awarded the Hypnologist of the Year in 1981
for  her contributions  to the art  and science of hypnosis.  Since then
Elaine  has  continued  to  make  significant contributions to the field:
For example, her Whole Mind Hypnotherapy approach which employs
all levels of consciousness in the hypnotherapeutic process. And she

now is offering training courses for professional people helpers.

She  and her work have been featured in newspapers and magazines,
and interviewed on radio and television;
she became a sought after speaker who could impart her wide range
of knowledge in an  interesting and entertaining way. She  still  speaks

to numerous  groups  and  continues to prove that hypnosis  is a  viable
methodology when practiced with an understanding of its nature and
potential and with respect and integrity of purpose.

Elaine's mission has always been to help people
the most natural safe and cost effective way.
The
success  of  her  clients  is  her primary concern and

she makes a serious genuine commitment to that goal.

More about Elaine Kissel
Elaine was born in London England and received the major portion of her
education there
.
She  studied  psychology, para-psychology, the mind brain sciences and hypnosis
for many years before establishing her hypnotherapy practice, which by th early
80's
was  a  successful  and  nationally  renowned  service. The powerful impact
of her pioneering and innovative approach exceeded conventional methodology
and was soon universally recognized and held in high esteem. Elaine endeavored
to  enhance the reputation  and  application  of  hypnosis  within  and outside the
profession,
developing her Whole Mind Hypnotherapy processes to broaden the
scope of how hypnosis could
be used to achieve remarkable unparalleled results.

In 1978 The American Association of Professional Hypnologists presented her with
the coveted Hypnologist of the Year Awardfor her innovations and contributions
to the art and science of hypnosis.
Her scientific study showing that blood sugar could be controlled with hypnosis
contributed significantly to the emerging body of knowledge about the potential
of hypnosis to treat mainstream health problems

Elaine studied at the Erny Pyle Institute of Journalism in New York
and has contributed to various local and national publications as a staffer,
a free lance writer  and an editor.
Her dynamic presentations and workshops have inspired
professional and lay people alike.
She has led seminars for professional hypnosis organizations and the general
public
on  a variety  of  issues, such as hypnosis and healing,  weight  control,
depression, addictions and anxiety in which she explored the deeper reasons
for persistent behavioral and health problems

and how hypnosis can address them.

A wide range of organizations, radio and TV programs continue
to call upon Elaine to share her knowledge and her deep insight to
discussion focusing on how people can use their minds to become
healthier  and more  fulfilled.

Elaine created
Mind Mastery,the celebrated mind training
course as a result of her own persona
l experience rather than
institutional or textbook learning
.
Her book
The Mind Is Willing,  based on her Mind Mastery course,
chronicles her own journey from near death to health and inspires as
well as teaches people to take charge of their own lives.

Her continuing search for more effective ways to facilitate people
achieving their goals was advanced by her extraordinary intuitive abilities and
commitment
to  excellence. Her   work  has resulted in a   library of resources,
including
self  development  courses, distance  learning  materials,   over  fifty
recorded
lectures and a variety of unique custom seminars to help people
discover and actualize their potential.

When the American Institute of Hypnotherapy (AIH)
was authorized by the State of California to offer the first ever post graduate
award in hypnotherapy, it invited Elaine to register as a Ph.D student to help
them set the standards for this new qualification, which she was duly awarded

in 1986. Nine years later the AIH was taken over when the eminent Dr. Krasner

transferred ownership and subsequently the AIH was closed without finding an

appropriate  qualified body to  provide for the Ph.D students. As a result of  this,

the  award  no  longer  appears  on  any  national  registers. Graduate and post

graduate   degrees  run  by  Universities  do  not offer  comprehensive  teaching

in  the  use  o f hypnosis  as a  specialist therapy. For this reason it is particularly

regrettable   that  Dr. Krasner  and  his  associates   were  no  longer  able  to
continue their work.

Elaine is currently investigating
the feasibility of building on their achievements by finding an alternative
way to facilitate and accredit the study of hypnotherapists  like herself,
and would welcome contact with anyone who would wish to support her
in this enterprise.

Still after more than 35 years of private practice Elaine continues to help people
make positive changes, develop control for themselves and overcome problems.
She also continues to create cutting edge programs for individuals and businesses
who wish to grow and excel in their personal and professional lives.
